For example, eating more healthier, find a solution first i.e. finding a substitute for fizzy drinks and crisps, have variety to make the habit easier and to stay committed. Understand the effectiveness is the planning. Confidence can be increased by commitment but more importantly overcoming fear of failure. We learn through our failures not our triumphs.
